We tried this place for the first time. It was so yummy! I am from Louisiana and I must say they hit it on the nail on the head. The flavors are bold and delicious. I had the crawfish etouffee (thank you for making the roux correctly). It was really good. My husband had the grilled blackened shrimp and he loved it. He says he cannot wait to go back again. We also tried the dirty rice, it also was very flavorful. I am looking forward to leftovers for lunch. Last but not least the bread pudding was super good. Real rum sauce on top. Love it! The staff were awesome! So friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to go again. Thanks Cajun Skillet
So good! I ordered the shrimp poboy and my husband had the chicken sausage gumbo. Both were delicious. The shrimp poboy is huge and only $10. It can easily be shared between two people. The flavor was on point with nice crispy shrimp, creamy sauce, and soft bread. The gumbo was tasty too! The spice wasn't overwhelming and the portion size is good for one person. The lady behind the counter was friendly, which a plus. I can't wait to try the rest of menu! Shop local and check out the Cajun Skillet!
Being from south Louisiana and considering myself a 'Cajun', I am skeptical of any place that calls there food 'Cajun'. But, with the owners being from New Orleans we had to try it out. We started with a takeout order of beignets.... and WOW. Not a bite was left from two orders. Today, we returned for lunch and it was PHENOMENAL. If you want true 'Cajun' cooking in central Texas, give them a try!
Found this little gem on Yelp while looking for a place for some fried fish and shrimp. It was SO good. I had the crawfish etoufee and enjoyed it. I even enjoyed the side toasts it came with. I could've eaten lots more of those . We also tried the fried catfish and shrimp, which was deeeelicious. Perfect amount of crunch and seasoning...
I don't know what's better here, the food or the people that cook it. Ever since I ate at the food truck, I have been anticipating this brick and mortar opening. Every time I've come in, the staff has been super friendly and they've had my order ready to go. I am no expert on Po'Boys, but I have had really good Po'Boys in New Orleans and this tastes just like them. The shrimp is quality, the bread is pillowy, the lettuce is crisp, and the seasoning is just right...
